Our overtime calculator uses the standard federal formula under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA):
- Regular pay = regular hours × hourly rate
- Overtime pay = overtime hours × hourly rate × overtime multiplier
- Total pay = regular pay + overtime pay
Default assumptions
- Standard workweek threshold: 40 hours
- Overtime multiplier: 1.5× (time and a half)
- Pay basis: hourly
