Overview
Payroll Decoded is designed with minimal data collection as a core principle. Our calculators run entirely in your browser — numbers you enter are never sent to our servers. This policy explains what data is collected when you use this site, who may process it, and your options.
Information We Do Not Collect
- Payroll figures, wages, hours, or any numbers entered into our calculators
- Social Security numbers, bank account details, or payroll credentials
- Your name, employer name, or employment information (unless you voluntarily provide them via the contact form)
- Account credentials — we have no user accounts
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting platform (Ghost Pro, operated by Ghost Foundation) and our CDN provider (Fastly) may collect standard server log data including IP addresses, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security, uptime monitoring, and aggregate traffic analysis. It is not used to identify individual visitors and is not sold.
Analytics
We may use web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or similar) to understand aggregate traffic patterns — pages visited, approximate geographic region, device type, and referral source. If used, this data is aggregated and anonymised. We do not use analytics to build individual user profiles. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookies
Our site may set basic functional cookies required for site operation. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. If you use a browser extension to block cookies, site functionality will not be affected.
Contact Form Submissions
If you contact us through the contact form on this site, your message and email address are processed by Formspree, a third-party form service based in the United States. Formspree stores submitted data on its servers in order to deliver messages to us. By submitting the contact form, you agree to Formspree processing your data in accordance with their privacy policy. We retain contact messages for as long as reasonably necessary to respond and follow up, typically no longer than 12 months. We do not share your contact details with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Platform Providers
This site is hosted on Ghost Pro (Ghost Foundation Inc.). Your visits to this site are subject to Ghost's infrastructure data handling as a processor. Ghost's privacy practices are described at ghost.org/privacy. DNS and network traffic may also pass through Cloudflare, whose privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Data Retention
- Server logs: Typically retained for up to 30 days by our hosting platform before automatic deletion.
- Contact form messages: Retained for up to 12 months or until we confirm the matter is resolved, whichever is sooner.
- Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymised; no individual-level retention.
Your Rights
You may request deletion or a copy of any personal data you have voluntarily submitted to us (e.g. through the contact form) by emailing info@payrolldecoded.com. We will respond within 30 days. Note that server log data and analytics data are aggregated and not linked to identifiable individuals, so individual deletion of those records is generally not possible.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated at any time. The "last updated" date above will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
